Environmentally safe disposal of expired or unused medications, only non-controlled drugs and schedule II, III, IV, and V controlled substances can be accepted. Accepted are prescriptions, prescription patches, prescription medications, prescription ointments, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, samples, and medications for pets. Not accepted are needles, thermometers, hydrogen peroxide, inhalers, aerosol cans, ointments, lotions, or liquids, and bloody or infectious waste. This to make our communities safer and to fight against prescription drug abuse and to protect the earth and waterways from chemical contamination.
